Dignity & Respect
EAP Consultants provide Dignity & Respect Awareness Training, incorporating bullying & harassment, grievance, disciplinary, use of Internet, email and other forms of communication, equal opportunities and equality policies, and health & safety statements. The main purpose is to highlight and remind managers and staff of their responsibilities under the aforementioned policies and incorporate the spirit of those policies into every day work and communications within the organisation.
Training includes:
Legal background to the Dignity at Work (Bullying & Harassment) Policy
An examination of the legal framework underpinning a dignity policy including Health & Safety and Equality law.
Scope of the policy
Where and how the policy applies, link to other policies including disciplinary, grievance and IT use.
Policy content
What a policy covers, including acceptable behaviour, responsibilities, procedures, rights and sanctions.
Definitions of different forms of bullying and harassment
Workplace definitions, what does and doesn't constitute bullying or harassment in the workplace. Linking to other relevant policies.
Impact and effects on individuals and organisations
Physical and emotional effects on individuals and impact on work environment.
Procedure for handling complaints, both formal and informal
Recommendations from the various codes of practice on addressing workplace behaviour complaints. Examination of various methods and procedures.
Mediation process
Its role in the workplace and a description of the process.
Managers' role in implementing policies
Guidelines for responding to complaints and dealing with issues.
Policy inclusions and prevention methods
Best practice for preventing, addressing and managing workplace behaviour.
