Redundancy

Redundancy is a harsh reality facing many individuals and organisations. Addressing the fears and anxieties is essential to allow your company to effectively respond.

The support services offered by EAP Consultants will help your organisation through the process of redundancy. We have an established specialist team who will provide an integrated response.

We provide a package that can be offered to any employee who is made redundant. We provide 4 or 10 Support Consultations which include the following components (as appropriate and required):

  • Career Coaching, including psychometric testing
  • Finance Support
  • Emotional Support, including family therapy session

Emotional Support

Emotional support will facilitate the employee to:
  • Deal effectively with increased stress
  • Retain focus and clarity
  • Maintain self-motivation
  • Effective decision-making
  • Increase awareness of strengths and limitations
  • Manage the transition
Redundancy can threaten a person’s long-standing beliefs and values. Key issues such as loss and trust are often challenged. Therapy will work with re-evaluating issues that may arise:
  • Loss of identity
  • Loss of trust
  • Assumptions about justice, predictability and security
  • Beliefs about identity and control
Offering staff this service as part of your support, shows your company to be heedful of best practice; to be aware of the importance of the reputation of your company and the anxieties of the remaining employees; and importantly ease the role of HR staff who may feel unequipped to deal with the situations that arise.

In addition to the above, EAP Consultants also offer on-site support for managers and supervisors managing emotions in the workplace and ‘survivor’ employees who are often dealing with feelings of anxiety, anger and resentment.
